Bring authentic Romanian folk craftsmanship into your home with this beautiful handwoven vintage rug (carpet) from Alba County, Romania. Featuring a traditional floral design on a rich black background, this unique textile was woven entirely by hand using primarily wool with small acrylic accents.
The rug is reversible, offering two distinct looks as seen in the pictures:
* The front side has softer, gently faded colors from years of careful use, giving it a warm vintage character.
* The reverse side features brighter, more vibrant colors and can also be displayed or used. As is typical of traditional handwoven textiles, the reverse has a few small loose yarn ends from the weaving process.
Size: 230x145 cm, good vintage condition .
This is not a thick pile rug. It is a flatwoven carpet with enough weight and structure to lie flat beautifully while maintaining the feel and presence of a traditional floor covering.

The rug is full of flowers : daffodils, tulips, roses, ears of wheat. The more you look the more you see.The carriage was easy , after all it came a long way. The owner was very helpful and kept me informed.
This rug is very special. Probably 60s it’s wool and made in narrow strips. It’s faded over the years ..but still bright. Anyone who loves colour should consider looking towards Eastern Europe, where you can find something different.
