Care & Authenticity

The pieces on this site are vintage, from various periods — some decades old, others reaching or surpassing a century. Most come from southern Oltenia, though we also carry collections from other regions of the country. They are handmade, aged pieces, so they may show small imperfections or asymmetries — which only adds to their beauty and uniqueness. Photos are taken to give you as clear an idea of the piece as possible, and if you'd like more information, please don't hesitate to ask.

Caring for your rug

The best "detergent" for a wool rug is air. We recommend airing them out regularly — wool has a natural self-cleaning process. At longer intervals, you can have them professionally cleaned. We do not recommend washing them: the wool was hand-dyed, and the colors can bleed into one another on contact with water and detergent.
